General Information:
Registration: May 15th to Saturday, July 5th, 2025 at 11am.
Arrival Time: Saturday, July 6th from 8:00am to 10:00am. A vet will be present to check your animals.
Release Time: Saturday, July 12, 2025 at noon or determined by the superintendent.
Entry Fee: $40.00 for each Exhibitor. $5.00 for each entry in each class. This includes 1 weekly pass ($50 Value). Additional passes can be purchased at the fair office.
Entries: Drivers must be 18 years or older and not enrolled in 4-H. Drivers in events with 3 or more horses hitched must be accompanied by a qualified driver (Qualified Driver = driven horses in multiple hitches (3+ horses), 18 years old or older, and not enrolled in 4-H). Halter class exhibitors must be in 3rd grade or 9 years or older and accompanied by a qualified driver. Exhibitors must be affiliated with the LaPorte County Draft Horse Association or the 4-H Wagonmasters club (except for friends of the breed). Exhibitors must own all animals shown.
It is at the judge’s discretion to make changes to the course for participants’ safety and enhancement of the course. The Judge’s decision is final and will be upheld. No high-wheeled hitch wagons will be allowed.
Any exceptions must be cleared up through the superintendent.
Show Attire: Exhibitors and qualified drivers must wear a collared shirt and work shoes/ boots when showing in events. Work shoes/boots also must be worn while working with the animals.
Care of the Animal: Exhibitor must properly care for animal including, but not limited to, stall work, grooming, care of tack, and feeding on average of twice each day. All hoof trimming and shoeing of equine should be done before admittance of fair. Any animal to be found in poor health or condition (such as underweight) will not be admitted to the fair. All Animals must be faced inwards in their assigned stalls.
All Animals must conform to Health Regulations and Vaccinations:
Required Vaccinations: Eastern and Western Encephalomyelitis, Rhinopneunonitis, Influenza, West Nile Virus, Strangles, Rabies Immunization.
Any animal to be shown in 4-H or Open Class must show Health Papers from their personal veterinarian per Indiana State Animal requirements.
Premiums: Will be paid time of showing. Please contact your Superintendent or the Fair Office if you have any questions.
No Premium will be paid if:
The exhibitor does not wear the correct exhibitor number for the entry.
The animal is not entered into the correct division.
Exhibitor will get entry fee back for division with less than three entries.
